  • I think the painter is Carolus Ludovicus Weyts (Antwerp 1828-1878). (You can see the town of Flushing in the left background.) This is "Hinterglasmalerei". The painting actually looks more like a work of his father, Petrus Cornelius Weyts (Antwerp 1799-1855) but if the creation date of 1857 is correct it cannot have been made by P. C. Weyts.
