Dette fotografiet er hentet fra DSS-arkivet, der bildene i hovedsak er tatt av medarbeidere fra Skogdirektørens kontor (senere Direktoratet for statens skoger) og fra de regionale skogforvaltningene i samband med befaringsreiser. Negativsamlinga, med samme nummerering, er også overlatt til museet, men mye mangler og noe er dårlig bevart, blant annet fordi opptakene i hovedsak er gjort på nitratfilm. Dette bildet har bevart originalnegativ (nitrat). I det fotografiske materialet Norsk Skogmuseum har overtatt fra den statlige skogadministrasjonen finnes også et større antall diaskopier, samt originale positivkopier utenfor katalogsystemet, men med samme originalnummerering fra DSS. Samlinga omfatter dessuten et betydelig antall nyere positivkopier som er registrert på emne og person hos DSS, uten egne nummer.
