Solveig Lund utdannet seg som kunstfotograf (nasjonaldrakter, landskap m.m) med særlig henblikk på turisttrafikken.
Solveig Lund hadde fra 1895-1906 studio på 4 forskjellige steder i Oslo - Pilestrædet 21 (1895-96), Universitetsgaden 22 (1897-88), Torvet 9 (1898-1899) og Storthingsgaden 2 (1900-1906). Antakelig er fotografiet tatt et av disse stedene.
