Odd D.Andersen tok svennebrev som salmaker 1955. Omkring 1960 drev firma med Mercedes/ Arnesen. Verkstedet lå i sentrum, flyttet deretter opp til Østensjøveien, fra 2000 til 2006 i Brobekkveien 64.
Sønnen Lars Bergum tok fagbrev i vogn- og bilsalmakerfaget i 1994 som den siste i Oslo. Måtte stenge firmaet på grunn av sykdom i 2006.
Firmaet laget og restaurerte bilseter, dashbord, dører og kalesjer. Først var det mest oppdrag med vogner. Hadde oppdrag for Slottet. Første symaskin var en Singer, som ble kjøpt inn gjennom Marshallhjelpen.
