IBM PC XT, modell 5160, var den første modellen som etterfulgte den originale PCen fra 1981. Den ble lansert i februar 1983, og skilte seg fra forgjengeren førs og fremst ved å ha en intern harddisk på 10 mb., i stedet for de to floppydiskstasjonene som er typisk for de første PC-modellene. Programmet lå da på en disk og dokumentene på en annen. Nå kunne programmene ligge permanent på PCen, slik vi er vant med i dag.
Denne maskinen ble kjøpt inn av Sunnmørsregnskap AS, et regnskapskontor eid av Sunnmørsbanken. Den ble brukt til regneark og tekstbehandling, samt som terminal i nettverk mot en IBM S36-maskin hvor programvare for regnskapsføring var innstallert. Maskinen var i bruk til 1988.
Monitoren til maskinen har en klistrelapp på siden som viser IBMs ofisielle reklamefigur for den verdensomspennende lanseringen av PC, nemlig Chaplins landstryker-karakter.
