Knekt.

Text in English: The mainmast''s knight with a sculpted male head. The head itself, although attached to the knight, is included in a sculpture group comprising seven three-dimensional heads on top of the knights situated on the upper deck and the deck above the steerage.
Location and function on the ship
The knight is located on upper deck, next to the mainmast and just forward of the steerage bulkhead. It was repositioned on the ship 21.10.1974.
There are two more knights by the mainmast, three by the foremast and one by the mizzen mast. All the knights, except for the mizzen knight, are "anchored" to the beams of the upper gundeck.
The term "knight" refers to the hallyard blocks that were fixed to the deck. Each was equipped so as to contain two or more pulley sheaves. The heads served a practical function as bollards, as running rigging could be made fast around the figures'' necks.
Woodcarver unknown.
