  • In fact, this is a an aeroplane built by Janne Mellander .

Janne Mellander was an Sweden’s engineer and he was born at Goteborg (Gothenburg), in 1871 (maybe 08 of January).

Janne came to Antwerp (Anvers in Belgium) early of century (?) and he produced several patents in Belgium.

In Belgium, in 1910, at Sint Job in 't Goor, he built an airplane with a “double fuselage”, the same principle described in one of his patents (your picture).

This airplane was viewed at Brasschaet (Belgium) at the same time, where some tests was worked out, but without result.

I do not have other information regarding Mellander and his aeroplane.

Currently, with a friend we are writing a book regarding the Belgium aviation before 1914. Please, could you tell me if I could use your picture for this book. Of course, your reference will be linked to this picture.

Please, is it possible to get a picture with a “hight quality” (lot of pixels) - many thanks

    Many thanks for your help

    Regards,

    Olivier Orban
