Der hvor holdeplassen for rutebilene nå er, stod tidligere "Hamre-husene". Skomaker Hamre eide en del gamle hus tvers over kvartalet til Sørhauggata som hadde vært garveri, og i mange år huset "slaktehuset". Kommunen kjøpte alt sammen, rev husene og laget sentralholdeplass.
Bil med reg.nr. L-115 er en Durant ca. 1926-modell. I Bilboken for Norge i 1927-1930 står den på Marie Gjerdsjø, Haugesund. I Norges Bilbok 1935 avløst av Chevrolet lastebil.
