Arkeologisk utgravning på Stutøy i tidsrommet juni-august 2018 i forbindelse med utbygging av industriområde. Undersøkelse ved Sigrid Alræk Dugstad og Solveig Sølna Rødsdalen. Lokaliteten ble registrert av Rogaland fylkeskommune i 2016.
Lokalitet A har ligget strategisk på et eid med god utsikt og tilgang til naturlige havner i sør og i nord. Eidet har vært et attraktivt område og har blitt tatt i brukt gjentatte ganger i løpet av forhistorien. Totalt ble det funnet 2046 littiske artefakter, inkludert funn fra registreringen i 2016. De eldste sporene etter menneskelig aktivitet på Lokalitet A kan ut fra typologiske og teknologiske trekk dateres til tidligmesolitikum. Sannsynligvis dreier det seg om en kortere bosetningsfase i denne perioden. En skjev trekantmikrolitt og en flateretusjert pilspiss reflektere trolig sporadisk jakt i området i mellommesolitikum og i senneolitikum. Hovedaktivitet på lokaliteten foregår imidlertid i senmesolitikum og i overgangen mot tidligneolitikum. I dette tidsrommet er det også aktivitet på Lokalitet D (id. 220579) som ligger mellom 50-100 meter sørøst for Lokalitet A. Lokalitet A er tolket som et boligområde hvor det har foregått en rekke ulike aktiviteter. Lokalitet D bestod av tre små topografisk avgrensede funnenheter med et mer ensartet funnmateriale. Lokalitet A og Lokalitet D er tolket som integrerte deler av et boplassområde fra senmesolitikum.
