Samoa er et land formet som en øygruppe i Polynesia i Stillehavet. På Samoansk heter Tapa Siapo.
Tapa er laget av barken på et spesielt tre. Treet blir bløtet opp og barken blir banket sammen til tynne stykker. Barkstykkene blir skjøtet sammen til et stort teppe. Barken legges i flere lag, for at den skal bli sterkere. Når tapa er ferdig blir den dekorert med forkjellig mønstere. Tapa lages av kvinner. Dekoreringen kan ha forskjellige betydninger. Fargene blir laget av asker og plantesaft, og går i svart og brunt.
Før i tiden brukte de tapa for å ha rundt seg. I dag blir tapa brukt som husdekorasjon og gaver.
