Museums in Norway and Sweden manage several thousand buildings of historic value. The buildings may be placed in their original environment or they may have been moved to an open air museum. Some buildings are attractions and are used as arenas for cultural events, exhibitions or demonstration of crafts, dance, music or storytelling. The buildings may also house services to the public or pratical functions for the museum.
