Prestegaards hotel vart bygd av Ola Håvardson Prestegaard (1832-1900) i 1868. Det vart utvida i 1880 til eit to-høgda bygg med veranda langs heile fasaden mot vest. Kona hans, Maren Elisabeth Lund, var frå Bergen og hadde praksis frå hotelldrift der. Fru Prestegård døydde av tuberkulose, og svigersonen Torbjørn Lothe og kona Jørgine (f. Prestegaard) overtok hotellet. Dei bygde på det i 1898-1899. Det fekk ein ny fløy ut mot sjøen, og skifte namn til Grand Hotel. No var det det nest største hotellet i Odda, med 40 soverom og 70 senger. Etter at Hotel Hardanger vart seld til kommunen i 1917, var Grand Hotel det største, og hadde eit godt renommé langt utanfor landegrensene. Lothe selde hotellet til Lars Patterson i 1923. Grand Hotel var det fyrste hotellet i Odda som fekk skjenkeløyve, noko som ikkje berre vart teke godt imot. Hotellet vart rive hausten 1975.
