Fotograf Anders Beer Wilse ble i 1916 engasjert av industriherrene gründer Fritz Tharaldsen og bankmann Patrick Volckmar i forbindelse med deres planer for storindustri i sørlige Rogaland. Eiendommer og fallrettigheter skulle kjøpes, og Åna-Sira med sine tre fosser ble utsett som aktuelt område for utbygging av kraft - og smelteverk. Innkjøpene ble foretatt, og Wilse, selv ingeniør, skulle lage prospekter for finansiering av planene, samt dokumentere industriherrenens egne prosjekter.
Vanskelighetene ble imidlertid for mange, eiendommer og rettigheter ble solgt videre i 1918. Fotografiene fulgte salget, ble gjenoppdaget i 1995 og deponert i Wilsesamlingen på NF fra Stavanger Energi og Titania A/S.
