Schaktningar runt kormuren, översikt, foto från söder.
Roslags-Bro kyrka är en av de äldsta som byggts av sten i Roslagen och har daterats till mitten av 1200-talet. Även några äldre dateringar har föreslagits. Kyrkan är byggd av gråsten med omfattningar och detaljer som hörnkedjor delvis i sandsten. Långhuset och sydportalen är bevarade från den första byggnadsfasen. Koret och sakristian är däremot tillbyggda i efterhand. Det faktum att sakristian är byggd mot långhuset och inte mot koret har gjort att man tolkat sakristian som äldre, tillbyggd innan det nya koret var färdigt. Långhusets östra del skulle under en tid ha fungerat som kor. Sakristian antas vara utbyggd under 1300-talet och koret omkring 1400.
I samband med att schakt grävdes för dränering och åskledare runt kyrkans sakristia och längs korets norra och östra vägg, genomförde Upplandsmuseet en arkeologisk kontroll vid Roslags-Bro kyrka. Ett första besök gjordes då schaktningarna inleddes vid sakristian. Ytterligare ett besök gjordes i schaktningarnas slutskede vid koret.
