John [Johan] Fredrik Andersson, född 23 juli 1816 [1817], död 1911.
Född i Önafors kvarn, Vassända Naglum. Son till Anna Holmgren, född 1784 från Värmland. Hon var gift med mjölnaren Anders Larsson född 1793 från Vänersborg. Flera barn, halvsyskon till John Fredrik Andersson.
En broder var Anders Fröberg, gästgivare i Svanesund, senare postmästare i Ljungskile.
John Fröberg i Finspång var brorson och John Renberg, prost i Morlanda, var systerson.
John Fredrik Andersson hade arrenderat Eriksfors kvarn belägen nära Bäveån vid Kyta [Kytan], Ramseröd-Kuröd utanför Uddevalla. Han kom till Henån år 1849, en driftig man, som räknas till det moderna Henåns grundare. Han bedrev handelsrörelse = lanthandel, spannmålsaffärer, gästgiveri och skjutsstation, krogägare, ångbåtskommissionär, intendent för badhuset och förmedlare av bostäder till badgäster. Han var kommunalman, överbefälhavare för skarpskyttarna och Henåns förste postmästare.
John Fredrik Andersson hade handelsrörelse först vid Henåns bro. Sedan köpte han ett rivningshus i Ström, Torps socken och återuppförde det i Henån, så kallade gamla posthuset. Tomten var intill ån, ganska mitt för nuvarande Röra församlingshem på Södra Strandvägen. Rivningshuset var ursprungligen inte fyrkantigt, men Andersson lät inte uppföra den forna tredjedelen av byggnaden. Bredvid huset låg ett snedskjul för ved, höns, gris och Anderssons häst. På andra sidan landsvägen låg krogen och på nuvarande tomt till Henåns församlingshem [Röra församling] var dels beteshagar för Anderssons häst, dels en köksträdgård.
Postmästare Andersson var en intresserad trädgårdsodlare av både prydnadsväxter och grönsaker. Han odlade apotekarrosen, Henåns röda ros = sammetsrosen, ’Tuscany’. Vidare röda och vita, dvs. flerfärgade dahlior, liljor, lökar m.m.
Han var ogift, hade flera anställda - män i affären och kvinnor som pigor. På 1860-talet kom Hedvig Winborg att anställas som husföreståndarinna. Hon var prästdotter från Långelanda. Hon medförde dottern Emma d. y., född 1861 död 1948. Emma kom att lära sig posten och var anställd till 1923. Först var poststation Henån i husets nedre botten sedan på övervåningen. 1923 flyttades den till Eriksborg = Saras hus och Sara Eriksson, född 1905 död 2000, blev postmästare.
Hedvig Winborg hade en syster Emma Winborg d.ä. Den senare anställd hos von Wrights på Marieberg. Postmästare Andersson umgicks med Bildts på Torebo och von Wrights på Marieberg. Emma d.y. var lekkamrat med Gustafva och Agnes Bildt.
Den unga Thyra Eriksson, gift Strid (1903 – 1998), gick i lära hos postfröken Emma. Hon såg hur postmästare Anderssons trädgård växte igen av ogräs. Hon beundrade blommorna och försökte rensa, men det var hopplöst. Länge påminde druvfläder och "vagnshäst" (stormhatt) om den trädgård som funnits.
