- Gåva från makarna Gustafsson, Inga-Maria "Majsan" och Thorsten. Vantarna är köpta av Inga-Marias pappa, Charles Kristensson, som gåva till hennes mamma, Hedy Kristensson. Charles ägde och arbetade på en herrekipering i Varberg på 1920-talet och Hedy ägde och arbetade på en i Falkenberg. Hedys herrekipering är föregångaren till Bröderna Johansson. Charles blev intresserad av stickning och närmare bestämt Binge, och köpte dessa tumvantar (och kofta, se föremål VMF43996) i Laholm på Bindslöjden, till sin fru Hedy, som inte alls var lika intresserad av hantverket som sin make. Binget kom till södra Halland och Sverige i mitten av 1600-talet. Holländskan Magna Brita Cracau var bosatt på Wallen i Våxtorp. Det sägs att hon och hennes tjänstefolk lärde ut stickning till de omkringboende. Södra Halland var ett mycket fattigt område och man gjorde allt för att dryga ut sina inkomster. Hela familjen var tvingad att hjälpa till med stickarbetet. Kunnighetern och skickligheten i Våxtorp socken blev vida känd och kvinnorna stod ibland för familjens hela inkomst. Själv unnade man sig inte plaggen man stickade, de var alldeles för dyrbara. Under kriget 1765-1763 levererades 24.000 par strumpor från Våxtorp till armén. Även i 1808-1809 års krig marscherade soldaterna i strumpor från Våxtorp. Så sent som 1915 levererades 15.000 par strumpor till militären.
