Karl Gustav Cedergren var regementsläkare och intendent vid Vänersborgs museum 1920-1941.
Cedergren föddes i Vänersborg, tog studentexamen där 1886 och utbildade sig sedan till läkare i Stockholm. Han återkom till sin hemstad 1912 då han som regementsläkare flyttade med Västgöta Regemente då det flyttade från Skara till Vänersborg.
Cedergren efterträdde Fredrik Nordin som intendent vid Vänersborgs museum efter att Nordin dött 1920 fram till sin egen död 1941.

Karl Gustav Cedergren föddes i Vänersborg år 1867 som son till handelsmannen Adolf Cedergren. Efter studentexamen påbörjade han medicinstudier och avlade Med. lic.-examen vid Karolinska Institutet i Stockholm 1898. Sex år senare anställdes han som bataljonsläkare vid Västgöta regemente i Skara och 1912 återvände han till Vänersborg i samband med regementets förestående flyttning dit. Under första världskriget kom han under en period att verka som läkare i Wien. Vid sidan av sin tjänst som regementsläkare i Vänersborg höll han privatklinik.
Redan tidigt visade Cedergren ett stort intresse för historia. Under studieåren i Stockholm anlitades han av Artur Hazelius som föremålsinsamlare till Nordiska museet. Periodvis deltog han även i ett projekt för dokumentärfotografering av äldre Stockholmsmiljöer.
Året efter det att Cedergren återflyttat till barndomsstaden, 1913, invaldes han i styrelsen för Vänersborgs museum där han kom att arbeta tillsammans med bland andra ordföranden och arkeologen Fredrik Nordin och intendenten för de naturhistoriska samlingarna Josef Sjögren.
Vid Nordins hastiga bortgång 1920 kom Cedergren att överta rollen som styrelseordförande och intendent för de arkeologiska och historiska samlingarna. Inom områdena skrå- och stadshistoria genomförde Cedergren omfattande forskningar och fortsatte det insamlingsarbete som påbörjat under Nordins tid. Särskild omsorg lades på att dokumentera och insamla föremål från stadens olika hantverksyrken.
När det gällde arkeologi var Cedergren själv en samlare av stora mått och genom egna insamlingar och köp kom han att skapa en samling på över tiotusen arkeologiska föremål. Samlingen deponerades på Vänersborgs museum från 1923 och efter Cedergrens bortgång 1941 överlämnades föremålen som gåva av änkan Elsa Cedergren. Karl Gustav Cedergren publicerade sina arkeologiska forskningsresultat ibland annat Vänersborgs Söners Gilles årsskrift, Västergötlands Fornminnesförenings Tidskrift samt i lokaltidningen Elfsborgs Läns Annonsblad där han framträdde som något av en folkbildare.
