- HistorySläkten Kirudd har sina rötter i Skåne. Bror Kirudd, f. Andersson (f. 1882-08-26) kom från fattiga förhållanden och stöttade familjens ekonomi med att sälja vispar och slevar av trä. Han flyttade, tillsammans med sin fru, som arbetat på mejeri, till en konfektionsfirma i Kiruna. Det gick bra för honom, så småningom tog han över firman. Men det var lite för norr ut för en Skåning så de tog över Öman & Mattssons konfektionsfabrik Gunnar Viborg i Uddevalla. Då tog han och hans familj efternamnet Kirudd, efter Kiruna och Uddevalla. Bror Kirudd sas vara ganska hetlevrad, och då han inte kunde förmå Uddevalla att subventionera elpriset till hans fabrik flyttade han till Vänersborg. Till en början gjorde man arbetskläder och overaller, men övergick så småningom till damkonfektion. En av sönerna till Bror, Sven Kirudd, bröt sig ur familjeföretaget och startade en byxfabrik på Gasverksgatan 9 i Vänersborg, kallad Sven Konfektion. Byxorna från fabriken kallades ''Svenbyxan''.
