Dette fotografiet er tatt i samband med en pressekonferanse som ble holdt i forbindelse med at Sparebanken Hedmark gav Norsk Skogmuseum en million kroner til utstillingsprosjektet «Det fantastiske treet». Etter denne pressekonferansen skrev Cathrine Loraas Møystad følgende artikkel i lokalavisa Østlendingen:
«Ny utstilling åpner i august.
Oppdrag treet.
Byggetrinn to i den tredelte utstillingen om Det fantastiske treet er nå finansiert. Det får museum- og bankfolk til å leke tre.
Før sto det utstilt møbler i Skogmuseets høyreiste, lyse rom under pyramidetaket i glass. Lenge har rommet vært klart for et tre, kanskje til og med ropt etter ett. Og nå blir det. En amerikaner skal komme og lage et «tre» i aluminium og fiberoptikk. Treslaget er «det fantastiske treet».
Treet er en fellesfaktor for alt vi formidler på Skogmuseet. Om det er hvordan treet anvendes i møbler og kunst, i industri og skogbruk, eller skogen som arena for jakt, fiske og friluftsliv. En annen og nyere faktor er formidling av klima. Nå ønsker vi å vise detaljene i dette fantastiske treet. Fra frø til forråtnelse til gjenoppstandelse, fra rot til topp, sier avdelingsdirektør Stig Hoseth.
Treet, som skal lages i viklet aluminium, med innlagt fiberoptikk slik at de fore årstidene kan lyssettes, blir fem meter høyt, og man kan gå rundt det på en mesanin. Treet vil også ha røtter, og rundt dem vil det være «levende» liv som publikum kan se på gjennom luker. Det er brukt fem til sju personer fra museets egen stab, i tillegg har de brukt ekstern fagkunnskap.
Vi har i mange år hatt et godt og viktig tilbud til femtetrinnet. Nå ønsker vi å rette oss også mot høyere nivå, videregående skole, sier Hoseth.
I utstillingen er det plass til skoleklasser, og det er laboratorium rett innenfor. Læreplanens krav til fordypning og anvendelse oppfylles.
Men slike utstillinger er sjølsagt ikke gratis. Budsjettet er på sju millioner kroner, og en lang rekke offentlige instanser bidrar i tillegg til museet sjøl. Siste million til verket er lagt av Sparebanken Hedmark.

Disse tre personene er fotografert foran ei tralle i museets atrium, der det på opptakstidspunktet - 8. april 2015 - foregikk byggearbeid. Dette er bakgrunnen for at det lå tre anleggshjelmer, hørselvern og en del spiker- og skruepakninger på den nevnte tralla da fotografiet ble tatt. Banken Sævig representerte hadde nettopp gitt museet tilsagn om en million kroner som tilskudd til utstillingsprosjektet «Det fantastiske treet», som i løpet av de påfølgende vårmånedene skulle realiseres i dette lokalet.
Målet med dette utstillingsprosjektet var å kunne tilby museets store publikum en spektrakulær innføring i skogens økologiske og samfunnsmessige betydning. Utstillingen skal presentere treet - gjennom et stilisert eksemplar - og med det som utgangspunkt vise biologiske funksjoner som fotosyntesen, karbonkretsløpet og skogens rolle som klimafaktor. Før dette fotografiet ble tatt, høsten 2014, hadde museet demontert utstillingen om tre i kunst, design og arkitektur fra atriet hvor bildet er tatt, og montert en ny utstilling om disse temaene med tittelen «TREnd» i en tilstøtende del av bygningen. Prosjektet vil også omfattet en revidering av introduksjonsrommet til den eksisterende utstillingen «Tid for Skog». Totalt vil prosjektet berøre cirka 350 kvadratmeter av museets utstillingsareal.
