- Dette fotografiet er fra negativsamlinga etter Jørund Midttun, som Norsk Skogbruksmuseum i sin tid fikk overdratt fra sønnen Magne Midttun. Jørund Midttun var født i Kvinnherad i Hardanger i 1887. Han tok middelskoleeksamen i 1904, og ble uteksaminert fra Kongsberg skogskole i 1909. Derfra bar det til Landbrukshøgskolen på Ås i Akershus, hvor Midttun tok avsluttende eksamen på skogbrukslinja i 1913. Etter dette ble han raskt ansatt som sekretær i Telemark skogselskap. Fra 1915 hadde han tittelen amtsskogmester eller fylkesskogmester, og fra 1953 ble tittelen justert til fylkesskogsjef i Telemark. Denne posisjonen hadde Midttun inntil han ble pensjonist i 1957. Jørund Midttun giftet seg med Anne Sollid i 1915, og sammen hadde de tre barn. Negativarkivet etter Midttun består dels av motiver fra hans skogfaglige yrkesliv, dels fra fritidsaktiviteter med familien. Midttun hadde en opptakskatalog, og negativene var sortert i papirlommer i henhold til denne katalogen. På sine eldre dager skal han ha hatt ambisjoner om å systematisere materialet ytterligere, men dessverre var helsa hans på dette tidspunktet så dårlig at effekten ble den motsatte. Materialet ble «godt stokket», og vi vet i liten grad når eller hvor de ulike opptakene er gjort.
