Disse stikkene skulle legges på taket av den nyrestaurerte Kvannstranddamkoia fra Grønavassdraget i Trysil. Denne 17,5 kvadratmeter store bygningen ble flyttet til museet i 1972. I forbindelse med tilstandsvurderinger i 2012-2013 ble det oppdaget betydelige råte- og soppskader i veggene ved pipa. Det antas at dette dels skyldes påkjenninger bygningen ble eksponert for under storflommen i 1995, dels dårlig fundamentering av ildstedet, som hadde «lagt seg» mot veggene i hjørnet ved inngangsdøra. Etter at Norsk skogmuseum fikk tilsagn om vedlikeholdstilskudd fra Anno museums fond for slike prosjekter ble Kvannstranddamkoia demontert i desember 2016. Nytt veggtømmer ble tilpasset i museets magasinhall vinteren 2017. I juni samme år ble det nevnte ildstedet rettet opp, og bygningen ble gjenoppført på en forhøyet tørrmurt gråteinsmur i juni samme år. I og med at fundamentet var forhøyet, kunne ikke taket tekkes før også pipa var forlenget. Dette ble løst i oktober 2017. Da Kvannstranddamkoia ble gjenoppført på museet i 1972 ble den utstyrt med et kavletak av halvkløvd småtømmer som ble lagt i et under- og overliggermønster. Ved demonteringa i 2016 viste dette taket seg å være råttent. Museets personale stusset også over at denne taktypen var valgt, for Kvanndstranddamkoia kommer fra et område der stikketak har vært den vanligste løsningen. Man greide ikke å finne beskrivelser eller fotografier av Kvannstranddamkoia før flytting, men valgte likevel å bruke stikker. Stikkene er levert av Ole Glorvigen fra Gjesåsen i Åsnes. Arild Teppen og Åge Broløkken veiledet Knut-Arild Nordli noe før han startet stikkelegginga.

Høsten 2017 fikk dette husværet nytt stikketak som siste operasjon i et større restaureringsprosjekt. Stikkene var i dette tilfellet lagd av furuvirke. De var 20 norske tommer (52 centimeter) lange, 8 til 12 centimeter brede og 3 til 6 millimeter tjukke (tjukkest på ytesida). Stikkene ble lagt i tre lag med seks tommers opptrekk og festes med en lang, tynn, ugalvanisert spiker gjennom hver stikke mot underliggende kløvde lekter. For å få lagene rette brukes et rettbord som anlegg for stikkenes nederkant. Spikertypen leveres av den svenske fabrikanten «Gryts» under typebetegnelsen «Sponspik blank» og med dimensjonsbetegnelse 65/1,7. Erfaring har vist at spiker av denne typen ruster «i takt med» at stikkene råtner. Når taket skal skiftes kan man derfor med pendlende bevegelser med en flatbladet spade kappe spikeren og flekker av spona i samme operasjon.
