"Jag lärde känna Alexander de Robetz, vi träffades första gången på klubb 19 i slutet av 1960-talet. Alexander anlände till middagen på K 1 mäss medförande signalhorn med vilket han med ljudliga hornstötar kallade oss till middagsbordet. På den tiden hade klubb 19 även en fanförare som alltid förde fanan vid högtidliga tillfällen. Till fanförare var Alexander självskriven då vårt regemente firade sitt 350 års jubileum och HM Konungen överlämnade en ny fana till regementet, ställde Klubb 19 upp med en avdelning och sin fana, förd av Alexander de Roubetz i m/ä. Om klubbens framträdande och uppmärksammade utmarsch efter ceremonin skrev lokaltidningarna Truppen var inte den största i antalet karlar, men de var TUNGA och gick främst. Det var något av Fraustadt för att inte skriva Willmanstrand över det hela. Om Alexander de Roubetz har skrivits, att om han fått livsrum i någon av Hjalmar Bergmans romaner hade han säkerligen beskrivits som en krumelur av sällsynt unikt slag. Vem var då Alexander de Roubetz?: Han föddes 1910 i St Petersburg, son till det kejserliga statsrådet Alexander de Roubetz av Ruriks ätt och Sofia Konstantinova Antjutin. Familjen flydde till Sverige Hans klurighet som tolk då krigsfångar i Norge repatrierades via Luleå skulle ha väckt Frans Hellers beundran. Hans vapenkännedom var märklig gällde det så japansk Ariska, rysk Kalashnikov, israelisk UZI. Bland hand samlaraktiviteter, må nämnas signalhorn, hjälmar, bajonetter, marschmusik från alla världens hörn. Om militära insignier visste han det mesta. Försedd med krumstav och klädd i mantel av fårskinn kunde man få se honom på lediga stunder vakta kungens får på gärdet. Under sin tid på AGA sysslade han med dykmaterial och var själv en duktig sportdykare. Inom Klubb 19 i Stockholm var han oförtröttligt verksam under decennier, idérik och alltid beredd att ge en hjälpande hand. Klubbens fana med renen under stjärnorna var honom anförtrodd, han förde den med oförliknelig briljans. Våren 1958 skulle jag genomföra en KFÖ. Jag hade övergått i reserven och bodde i Stockholm. Några dagar före min avresa till Boden ringde Alexander, han hade fått reda på att militärrestaurangen Tre Renar skulle invigas och ville skänka tre gevär ur sin samling att pryda någon vägg där. Han ville att jag skulle medföra och överlämna gevären till regementet, nu finns dom på plats som Alexander önskade. Sista gången jag träffade Alexander var i slutet av 1980-talet. Det var en vacker sommardag vi träffades på min gård i Norduppland. Det var några I19 veteraner med översten Arne Hallström som nestor. Vi studerade rysshärjningarna 1719 i Leufsta Bruk med omnejd. De var som en kaderövning i gammal god stil. Alexander använde signalhornet flitigt. Kapten Alexander de Roubetz avled år 1988, 78 år gammal och därmed gick en officer och gentleman av den gamla stammen ur tiden. Text Nils Walterholm Foto Erling Molin Alexander blev officer vid I och tjänstgjorde under senaste kriget både i svenska och finska armén. Representerade efter kriget AB Sveaexport i Kina för Carl Gustafs stads gevärsfaktori, hade tjänst inom Statens industrikommission var han medlem av repatrieringskommissionen i Korea. Hade anställning vid AGA blev även auktoriserad translator i ryska. Arbetade under senare år som forskare, bland annat vid Armémuseum som översättare, journalist och vapenkonservator. Ovanstående täcker bara en liten del av hans mångsidighet. Dessa tre vapen skänkte kapten Alexander de Roubetz. Vapnen finns i kamratföreningsrummet/glasrummet på Tre Renar. 9"
