- Funnene er innkommet ved arkeologisk utgravning av et jernvinneanlegg med tre kullgroper foretatt i perioden 28.7.-13.8.2014 i forbindelse med realisering av reguleringsplan for Størrtjednlie. Oppland fylkeskommune registrerte området i 2008 (Grøtberg 2009). Selve jernvinneanlegget ble flateavdekket og totalgravd, mens kullgropene ble dokumentert i plan, hvorpå to ble snittet med gravemaskin, mens den tredje ble undersøkt med prøvestikk. Anlegget inneholdt et ovnsområde med vage rester av en svært ødelagt ovn, to slagghauger, et malmlager, en røsteplass, samt diverse kultur- og avfallslag. Det ble tatt ut forskjellige slaggprøver fra den ene slagghaugen, samt kullprøver av de fleste anleggene og malmprøve fra røsteplassen. Fem kullprøver ble vedartbestemt ved Moesgård Museum og radiologisk datert ved Ångströmlaboratoriet. Analyserapportene finnes i utgravningsrapporten (Wenn og Rundberget 2016).
