- Prosessen med bygging av kopi av bask startet vinteren 1995-96. Da kom elvebåtbygger Jouni Laiti til Varanger samiske museum, Nesseby, og traff de lokale informantene Anders Per Noste og Anders Bomban. De var to eldre håndverksdyktige som husket båttypen bask fra sine yngre dager og hvordan den ble brukt. Sammen med Laiti, og ved hjelp av en artikkel om bask utgitt 1951-54, kom de frem til hvordan en kopi skulle se ut. Ut i fra dette bygde Laiti en modell for det videre arbeidet med kopi av bask. Han bygget basken i Utsjok. I midten av mai 1996 fikk Ander Per Noste kopien av bask hjem til seg for å justere den. Den offsielle sjøsettingen gikk av stabelen i Nessebyhavn i juni-juli 1996. Jouni Laiti, Anders Per Noste, Anders Bomban med flere satte seg i basken og hadde glemt å sette i nugle. Roger Persson var usikker på om det var denne eller den andre basken Jouni Laiti bygget til Varanger samiske museum..
Produksjon - Produsert: 1995 - 1996 (Prosessen med byging av kopi av en bask startet vinteren 1995. Da kom båtbygger Jouni Laiti til VSM og hadde møter med iformantene Anders Bomban og Anders Per Noste. De var eldre håndtverkskyndige og hadde opplevd basken i bruk i sin ungdom. Ved hjelp av en artikkel om basken diskuterte de seg frem til hvordan en kopi skulle se ut. Jouni Laiti bygde også en modell av en bask før selve byggingen av den første basken startet. Jouni Liti bygget to basker den andre i 1997-98. )
