- Info om bruk: Chadburn's started in 1870 in London with patent No. 2384 in the names of C H and W Chadburn. In 1903 a large four storey factory was acquired in Bootle, a harbour town just north of Liverpool, and a non-ferrous foundry was built nearby to manufacture steam whistles, engine revolution counters and rudder angle indicators as well as telegraphs. In 1946 the company consolidated to Park Lane, Bootle. To offset changes in demand from marine to land-based industries, they also built cranes and made rod gearing equipment. The name was changed to Chadburns (Liverpool) Ltd. During the shipbuilding crisis of the 1980s the company inevitably suffered a decline and moved to Leeds, where an instrument company incorporated the marine division. Bloctube Marine Limited became the successors to Chadburn Marine Development. The company was still in operation in 2006 making telegraph systems and electronic instruments, mainly for export.
