Margit Lundberg växte upp i Mellerud där hennes pappa Gunnar Larsson (1892-1970) arbetade som kamrer på Dalslandsbanken. I unga år, runt 1910, kom Gunnar in på Ritskolan/Akademien i Stockholm. Han flyttade dit, men stod inte ut, så han flyttade hem och kom att göra karriär inom banken. Vid mogen ålder sade han upp sig från banken och ägnades sig heltid åt måleriet.
Gunnar Larsson och hans hustru Ester Hedström fick sex barn, fem flickor och en pojke. Sonen dog vid unga år. Margit var det äldsta barnet.
Margit var konstnärlig och intresserad av nya trender. Hon var t ex den första som bobbade håret i Mellerud, dvs den flicka som klippte sitt hår kort. Denna klänning bar hon vid sin konfirmation 1931 i Holms kyrka. Den är sydd av en sömmerska som kom hem till familjen och sydden den på plats.
När kriget var över kom Margit att arbeta inom konfektyrbranschen. Hon ritade bland annat modeller för Esers i Borås. Hon var även utsänd för att leta nya modeller och trender utomlands.
Margit fick en son, givaren. Hon var ensamstående förälder. I början fick sonen växa upp hos sina morföräldrar, men efter andra världskriget så växte sonen upp hos sin mor.
