Bosch-Fernseh BCN-50 videobåndspiller B-format for 1" bånd.
Da Ampex introduserte sin første Quadruplex 2 toms videobåndspiller i 1956, Ampex VRX 1000, revolusjonerte det fjernsynsproduksjonen. Fram til å da hadde sendingene stort sett blitt kringkastet direkte. En sjelden gang tok man opp sendingene. Det skjedde med vanlig film. Dette var en lang og tungvint og ikke minst kostbar prosess for NRK. Med de første magnetbåndene kunne man benytte båndene umiddelbart etter opptak og minst like viktig; båndene var gjenbrukbare.
En ny milepæl i utviklingen av videobåndspillere var introduksjone av spillere for 1" bånd. Ampex og Sony på den ene siden og Bosch-Fernseh på den andre hadde samtidig utviklet spillere for 1"bånd. Fordelene var mange, blant annet mindre spoler og dermed mindre maskiner, mindre bånd og annet. I 1976 introduserte begge utviklerne sine maskiner for 1"-toms bånd under to forskjellige formater. Det amerikansk-japanske fikk betegnelsen C-format, det europeiske B-Format.
Denne modellen ble i NRK brukt helt opp til den digitale revolusjonen innen tv-produksjon. I tillegg til å bli brukt til vanlig opptak, spilte den også over opptak fra de eldre 2"-bånd til B-formatet.
