Urmaker Noodt var virksom på 1850-tallet og fremover. Noodts presisjonsur (kronometer) er det eneste kjente norskproduserte uret av denne typen. Det hang i Noodt og hans etterfølgeres urmakerforretning til ca 1980, da det ble kjøpt av urmaker Arne Bakken.
Samme type ur er i Observatoriet på Solli plass og på Fysisk institutt, men disse er produsert utenfor Norge. Noodts ur kan være en del av hans fagutdannelse som urmaker. Det er av en helt spesiell kvalitet, og må regnes mer som et vitenskapelig instrument enn en almen tidsmåler.
Marcus Wøldike Noodt ble født 1824 i Hammerfest, og døde 1895. Han etablerte seg i Trondheim som urmaker i 1854, og begynte senere også som fotograf.
