Båtryer, ryer, napparyer. Plagget har mange navn. En rye er et vevd sengeplagg i ull, med floss på ene siden, som knyttes i under vevingen. Flossen er av ullgarn, noen ganger ispedd filler av vevde stoffrester.
Ryene ble brukt som sengeplagg, på samme måten som skinnfeller. De finnes langs hele vestlandskysten av Norge, og varierer litt i stil og utførelse i ulike regioner. Noen steder er det lite ullgarn og mye filler i flossen, og enkelte ryer har også bomullstøy i flossen. I fiskeridistriktene er det ofte bare ufarget ullgarn i flossen.
Ryene var spesielt godt egnet til sjøfolk, både ombord i båter og i rorbuer under sesongfiskerier. Rya har minst like gode varmeegenskaper som skinnfellen, men i motsetning til fellen tåler rya godt å bli våt og bli vasket.
Ei rye var et verdifullt plagg, mye ull gikk med til produksjonen.
