Dette fotografiet er hentet fra DSS-arkivet, der bildene i hovedsak er tatt av medarbeidere fra Skogdirektørens kontor (senere Direktoratet for statens skoger) i samband med befaringsreiser i forvaltningsdistriktene. Negativsamlinga, med samme nummerering, er også overlatt til museet, men mye mangler og noe er dårlig bevart, blant annet fordi opptakene i hovedsak er gjort på nitratfilm. Dette bildet har ikke bevart originalnegativ. I det fotoarkivet Norsk Skogmuseum har overtatt fra den statlige skogetaten finnes også et større antall diaskopier, samt originale positivkopier utenfor katalogsystemet, men med samme originalnummerering fra arkivskaperne. Samlinga omfatter dessuten et betydelig antall nyere positivkopier som er registrert på emne og person hos arkivskaperne, uten egne referansenummer til opptak eller filmer.
Other informationReidar Høye er sønn av Nils Olsen Høye fra Rendalen, som i 1900 kom til Ljørdalen som skogoppsynsmann. Høyes svoger, Magnus Rømoen, overtok seinere denne stillingen. Da staten overtok skogene, ble Reidar Høye ansatt som oppsynsmann. Han er gift med Gerd Oleanne Wiken fra Ljørdalen, og har en sønn og ei datter. (Se tidsskriftet Statsskog, nr. 1 1978, side 32)

Høye ble ansatt som skogforvalter i Trysil da staten overtok Stora Kopparbergs skoger i Ljørdalen. Hans far, Nils Olsen Høye fra Rendalen, hadde vært skogoppsynsmann samme sted fra 1900. Bildet er digitalisert fra et lite passbilde, og er derfor av dårlig teknisk kvalitet.
