- Dette fotografiet er tatt av Kjell Søgård, som i fra midten av 1950-åra til han tidlig i 1970-åra ble alvorlig sjuk og døde, var fotograf med avisa Østlendingen som hovedoppdragsgiver. Søgård leverte også film og bilder til Norsk Skogbruksmuseum. Han gjorde blant annet opptakene til kulturhistoriske dokumentasjonsfilmer om eikebarkfletting (1965), grindalsfluefiske (1966), hankekjøring av tømmer (1967) og tømmerfløting i Arendalsvassdraget (1970). Søgård leverte dessuten stillfotografier til museets utstillinger og publikasjoner. Hans personlige interesser var sammenfallende med museets tematikk. Alt fra ungdomsåra var Kjell Søgård en ivrig jeger, og som voksen jaktet han elg, rein, rådyr, småvilt og fugl. I 1987 overlot enka Jenny Søgård og dattera Vera Søgård Bryn negativarkivet etter Kjell Søgård til Norsk Skogbruksmuseum (som fra 2003 har vært drevet under navnet Norsk Skogmuseum). Materialet ble forsvarlig arkivert i museets magasin, men det var i mange år lite brukt. I samband med forberedelsene til den nye basisutstillingen om jakt, ferskvannsfiske og sanking («Tråkk i mangfoldig natur», 3. byggetrinn) ble Søgård-samlinga gjennomgått, og man fant mange motiver som ble brukt i utstillingen. Vi oppdaget også en god del andre kulturhistorisk interessante motiver, som ble skannet og registrert i museets elektroniske fotodatabase. Det vil imidlertid ta lang tid før hele Søgård-samlinga er å finne i denne databasen (BB 2015).
