- I forbindelse med graving av grøfter for nedleggelse av ny VA-ledning fra Ås kirkegård II til Norderås, registrerte Akershus fylkeskommune området ved sjakting i 2008. Det ble funnet seks kokegroper, et mulig stolpehull, et lag tolka som mulig kulturlag og tre udefinerte nedgravinger (Johannesen 2008). Kulturhistorisk museum gjennomførte en arkeologisk utgraving av kulturminnene i september 2009 (Reitan 2010). Totalt åtte sikre kokegroper og fire groper med ukjente funksjoner blei undersøkt og dokumentert. Sjaktene hadde stått åpne siden registreringa og strukturene var gjengrodd. Totalt blei et område på ca 250 m lengde og inntil 8 m bredde undersøkt. Radiologiske dateringer viser at kokegropene var i bruk i perioden førromersk jernalder-eldre romertid, ca 300 f.Kr. til ca 100 e.Kr., en større grop S-10 er datert til vikingtid-middelalder. Prøver er vedartsbestemt av Helge I. Høeg og datert ved NTNU (DF-4308) (i Reitan 2010).
